H.E. Mr. Jan Wahlberg,
Ambassador for Peace Mediation of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Jan Wahlberg is Ambassador for Peace Mediation and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. His interests include inclusive peace, cross-cultural understanding, and religion in mediation. Jan has worked as an Ambassador for Climate Change, and the climate, peace, and security nexus is another focus area of his work. Much of his recent activities relate to the Horn of Africa and Latin America.
Jan’s professional path has centered on European Union and Asian affairs. He has worked at Finnish missions in Shanghai, Tokyo, Brussels, Sofia, and Madrid. Jan holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Catholic University of Chile and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Oregon (USA).
