Dr. Azza Karam,
Founding President and CEO of Lead-Integrity
Professor Azza Karam is President and CEO of Lead Integrity - the first global, women-of-faith-led consultancy with a Roster of Experts in human rights, peace and security, sustainable development, and humanitarian relief, from over 50 countries, each with a minimum of two decades of experience. She serves as the Director of Occidental College's flagship Kahane United Nations Offices in New York. She is a member of the United Nations Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism.
During three decades of work in and with the United Nations, she coordinated UNDP’s Arab Human Development Reports and founded and led the United Nations Interagency Task Force on Religion, Development, as well as she's Multi-Faith Advisory Council.
She was Professor of Religion and Development at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and has penned multiple publications translated into several languages.
In addition to her career at and with the United Nations, Professor Karam has served as the Secretary General of Religions for Peace and President of the Women's Learning Partnership - both international NGOs headquartered in the United States.
Egyptian-born, she has worked in Africa, the Arab world, Europe, and now lives in the United States.
