Dr. Hana Omar,
Director of International Relations and Partnerships at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief)
She currently serves as Advisor to the Supervisor General and Director of Partnerships and International Relations at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief). In her role, she plays a crucial part in fostering partnerships and implementing strategies to enhance international cooperation. Her work includes managing cross-cultural communication, promoting collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for joint initiatives. She focuses on building strong relationships with partners and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and resources to achieve common humanitarian goals.
In addition, she actively participates in major international events to address challenges and opportunities in the humanitarian field. Together with her team, she organizes several international events and serves as the Head of the Advisory Committee for the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
Prior to her current position, she worked as Director of Community Support at KSrelief, where she managed the implementation of humanitarian projects focused on education, protection, early recovery, and agriculture in vulnerable and crisis-affected communities around the world, in partnership with the United Nations, INGOs, and NGOs.
Earlier in her career, she served as a diplomat in the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During her tenure, she was seconded to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York as a Fundraising and Engagement Consultant, where she co-founded the Global Goals Jams initiative to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and support innovative, durable solutions. She later served at the Saudi Embassy in Rome as Head of the International Cooperation Unit, liaising with international organizations and managing the G20 Saudi Presidency portfolio. She was also a member of the Leaders Program at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Previously, she worked at the Center on Disability Studies (CDS) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, supporting students with disabilities and building local capacities to improve inclusive education and community-based services through research, training, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has published several articles on inclusive education and community-based technologies and serves as a reviewer for various international journals.
